Gifford’s Hits All-Time Sales Record This Week

The record sales come days before the brand launches into the Washington, D.C. market

 

SKOWHEGAN, MAINE —June 20, 2014 —Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream, award-winning ice cream from a small town in Maine, is super excited to announce that this week, even before the official start of summer, the company has hit an all-time record high in ice cream sales. This means that Gifford’s is selling more of its slow-churned ice cream than ever before from its small, yellow clapboard factory in Skowhegan, Maine. The announcement comes days before Gifford’s is planning to launch its ice cream into the Washington, D.C. Market. (See related press release).

campcoffeeLindsay Gifford-Skilling announced that her family’s company sold 1.7 million gallons of ice cream last year and, as of this week, they have already turned the corner on 943,514 gallons and it’s only June! “Sales are up 10 percent year-to-date in gallons sold over the prior year,” she said.

“We are ecstatic about reaching this milestone,” said Gifford-Skilling. “For us, this means that more families are enjoying our creamy ice cream made with milk and cream from Maine farms. It also means our team can feel a deep sense of pride about what we are accomplishing as a company.”

The surge in popularity seems to be for a number of reasons:
