Maine people are well known for their integrity and solid work ethic, not to mention their unique sense of humor. We can not imagine a better place to build our business, raise our families and make our ice cream. We also could not imagine better people to work with, side-by-side, every day. At Gifford’s, we are one big family. As the largest statewide, independent, family-owned ice cream company in Maine, we strongly believe in supporting the local communities and small businesses that give Maine its special character. That is why we purchase fresh milk and cream from local Maine farms. Whenever possible, we use locally grown produce, such as Maine wild blueberries and Maine made maple syrup. It is also why we are so active in communities throughout the state of Maine. Whether it’s sponsoring children’s athletic teams, raising money for local charities, or making donations to support grass roots causes, we believe in being good neighbors.
